The trace of the previous painting 1
We believe the drawings and patterns we are working on were painted around the early Meiji era (1868-1912)
And under these Meiji drawings, we found a new layer of an older trace of another drawing. This will also be traced and kept in the record.
The research on the history of previous work will be going into well underway from now on.
Trace of the previous painting 2
Trace the previous painting 2 with line drawings
The drawing on the wooden wall at the back of the Moya (central area of a temple building) was hidden under the layers of dirt and mold and only partially visible when we started the project. As we removed the dirt and mold and retouched the missing painting patiently, the entire horse drawing was reappeared. From the front, you will see a white horse on the right, a brown horse at the center and a black horse on the left.
